Design a t-shirt for Hedgehog Awareness Week ’26

It’s time to spread the word about Hedgehog Awareness Week – the most important week of the year for hedgehogs!

We want you to design a t-shirt to wear during Hedgehog Awareness Week – happening 3rd to 9th May 2026 this year.

This year the theme is β€˜Take the Hedgehog Pledge’ – so we’ll be shouting about all the actions we can take to help protect our precious wild hedgehogs. This includes things like pledging to add more hedgehog highways to your neighbourhood, to sign up to be an NHMP spotter or to leave wild edges, long grass and log piles in the garden.

Whether it’s minimalistic or bursting with vibrant colours, let your imagination run wild and show us what hedgehogs mean to you.

How to enter

Whether drawn, painted, collage, or designed digitally your original design must include #HEDGEHOGWEEK somewhere.

There are three age categories:

  • Age 7 years & under
  • Age 8-15 years
  • Age 16 and over

Designs will be judged on the following criteria:  

  • OriginalityΒ 
  • Creative use of materials and mediums
  • Captures the spirit of the theme of Hedgehog Week
  • Can be suitably printed on a light-coloured T-Shirt

Deadline: Send us your designs byΒ 6th April 2026.

Please note – these should be original creations and not AI-generated designs.

We’ll feature winners and some of our favourite designs as part of our Hedgehog Week celebrations (with full credits to the designer) – plus some designs might be made available in our online Teemill shop for others to buy! The winners will receive a t-shirt or tote bag featuring their design

You can email your design to info@britishhedgehogs.org.uk. These designs may be submitted as a JPG or PNG and must be a minimum 1MB – maximum 5MB file.
