christmas Archives - The British Hedgehog Preservation Society

You can support hedgehogs while ticking off your Christmas list with our new gift guide!

Christmas can be an expensive time of year, so we’ve put together a gift guide with some budget-friendly ideas. What’s even better, every sale supports our conservation work across the UK. From our popular calendar and Christmas cards to cuddly toys and books, there’s a gift for every hedgehog-fan out there.

Hedgehog numbers are declining rapidly, making it more important than ever to protect their welfare and natural habitats. By supporting our work while you shop, you can help us make a real difference.

Gifts for less than £10 each before postage:

BHPS 2027 calendar (£6.95) – Packed with photographs and artworks from BHPS supporters, rehabilitators and members of the public, with Hedgehog Awareness Week in May clearly marked!

Hedgehog bookmark (£2.95) – A handy magnetic bookmark for the bookworm in your life.

Hedgie keyring (£6.95) – A soft, adorable clip-on hedgehog, ideal as a keyring or bag charm.

Hedgehog Highway sign (£3.00 or £5.00 for two) – Help hedgehogs roam freely by marking your Hedgehog Highway with a Hedgehog Street sign. Made from recycled green plastic, each sign comes with pre-drilled holes for easy installation. 13cm square Hedgehog Highway gaps in fences and walls are one of the best ways to support hedgehogs, allowing them to move safely between gardens and green spaces in search of food, shelter and mates.

Pricklepaper’s Letter Magic book (£7.99) – A heart-warming story about the power of kindness and the magic of friendship told through clever wordplay by author, actor, TV presenter and brilliant wordsmith, Tom Read Wilson. Perfect for primary and preschoolers.

Howie (£6.95) – The perfect prickly pal to join you on Christmas morning! Filled with pellets made from recycled plastic, his short-cut ‘spines’ give a soft bristle feel that stimulate children’s senses.

Wrendale lip balm (£4.95) Honey and vanilla scented, paraben and SLS free, in an illustrated tin.

Mini Notebook (£5.95) – A hardback notebook with a Wrendale wild hedgehog design and 50 lined pages, each with a small colour illustration.
